Prior's look is set in **Settings → General**. Your choices are saved with your account, so a new device you sign in on looks the same as the others.

## Language

Prior speaks five languages: English, Français, Español, Deutsch and Português. It starts in your device's language, or in English if yours is not one of them.

1. Open **Settings → General**.
2. Under **Language & region**, open **Language** and pick one.

The change is immediate. It changes the interface, never your content: task titles, notes, project names and flashcards stay in the language you wrote them in.

## Theme

Under **Appearance**, **Theme** has three choices:

- **System** follows your device and switches between light and dark by itself.
- **Light**
- **Dark**

On desktop, the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar has the same three choices.

## Text size

**Text size** is **Small**, **Default** or **Large**. It scales the text and the controls of the whole app, on every device of your account.

## Density

**Interface density** is **Comfortable** or **Compact**. Compact fits more rows on the screen. On a phone, the touch targets stay large either way.

## Good to know

- Language, theme, text size and density follow your account. The notification settings do not: they belong to each device. See [Set up notifications](https://priortasks.com/docs/account/notifications/).
- The emails Prior sends you (confirmation, password reset, billing) are written in the language the app was in when you signed up, signed in or asked for the email.
- The animations of Game mode have their own switch, **Effects**, in **Settings → Game**. See [Choose Calm or Game](https://priortasks.com/docs/game-mode/calm-or-game/).
