An invitation link lets you add several people at once without typing their emails: post it in a chat, a document or a meeting invite. Anyone with a Prior account who opens it can join the project, after confirming. Only the project's owner can create links.

## Create a link

1. Open the project, choose **Share**, then the **Invitation link** tab.
2. Under **New links expire**, pick **Never**, **After 7 days** or **After 30 days**.
3. Next to **Editor link** or **Viewer link**, choose **Create link**.
4. Prior copies the link for you. Paste it where your team will see it.

An editor link adds people as editors, who can create and change tasks. A viewer link adds them as viewers, who can see the project without changing it.

## What the person who opens it sees

They sign in, or create an account if they have none. Prior then asks "Join “Project”?" and shows who invited them, the role they would get and how many people work there. They choose **Join**, **Later** (Prior asks again the next time they open the app) or **Decline**. Nobody joins without pressing **Join**.

## Manage your links

Each role has at most one active link. Each row shows how many people used it and when it ends: "Used by 3 people · expires in 12 days", "never expires" or "expired".

- **Copy link**: copies it again, on the device where you created it.
- **Regenerate**: makes a new link. The old one stops working at once.
- **Turn off**: the link stops working for good. People who already joined stay in the project. Remove them from the **People** tab if you want them out.

For your security, a link is shown only when it is created. On another device, Prior cannot show it again: regenerate it to get a new one.

## Good to know

- **Nobody is downgraded.** An owner or editor who opens a viewer link keeps their role. A viewer who opens an editor link is asked to **Become editor**.
- **Links do not reserve a place.** Your plan's limit on people per project is checked when someone joins. If the project is full, the person is told to ask you to make room. See [Share a project](https://priortasks.com/docs/collaboration/share-a-project/).
- **People you removed can rejoin** while a link is active. Turn it off or regenerate it first if that is not what you want.
- **A link is a key.** Anyone who has it and an account can join, so share it only where you trust the audience. Use [email invitations](https://priortasks.com/docs/collaboration/invitations/) when a place should go to one specific person.
- An expired or turned-off link shows the visitor a message and asks them to contact you for a new one.
