Prior's widgets show what matters without opening the app. They read a copy of your data that the app keeps up to date on each change and sync.

## Add a widget

### Android
1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen, then choose **Widgets**.
2. Find **Prior** in the list.
3. Drag the widget you want to your home screen.
### macOS
1. Right-click the desktop and choose **Edit Widgets**, or open Notification Center and click **Edit Widgets**.
2. Find **Prior** in the list.
3. Pick a size and drag the widget where you want it.

macOS widgets need macOS 14 or later and the installed app, not the web app.

## The widgets

| Widget | What it shows | On |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Today** | Your tasks due today, with how many are open and done. | Android, macOS |
| **Agenda** | Today's events and tasks side by side. | macOS |
| **Inbox** | Tasks waiting to be sorted. | Android, macOS |
| **Calendar** | Your calendars and habits this week. | Android, macOS |
| **Priorities** (**Matrix** on macOS) | Your [Eisenhower quadrants](https://priortasks.com/docs/tasks/eisenhower-matrix/) at a glance. | Android, macOS |
| **Quick add** | A button that adds a task in one tap, and your next three tasks to focus on. | Android |

Tapping a row or a section opens it in the app.

> [!tip]
> On Android you can also touch and hold the Prior icon and pick **New task**. On a computer, use the [global shortcut](https://priortasks.com/docs/tasks/quick-capture/).

## Good to know

- A widget shows what the app last saw on this device. If it looks out of date, open Prior once so it syncs: see [sync problems](https://priortasks.com/docs/troubleshooting/sync-problems/).
- Windows and Linux have no widgets.
