# Connect Prior to other AI apps

> Steps for Codex, Gemini, Zed, JetBrains, Windsurf, Mistral Le Chat, Copilot Studio and more, from each app's own documentation, plus access keys.

Any app that speaks the Model Context Protocol over HTTP can connect to Prior. This page gives the steps for the ones we looked up. If your app is not listed, use the general settings in the next section.

## What any app needs

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Server address | `https://api.priortasks.com/mcp` |
| Transport | Streamable HTTP (the app may call it "HTTP" or "remote") |
| Sign-in | OAuth, in your browser. No client ID or secret to enter |
| Without a browser | An [access key](https://priortasks.com/docs/integrations/access-keys/), sent as `Authorization: Bearer <key>` |

Prior supports dynamic client registration and client ID metadata documents, so an app that signs in by itself needs nothing more. An app that only supports the older SSE transport cannot connect.

These steps come from each app's own documentation, read on 4 November 2026. We did not test Prior in each of them. Menus change often, so the app's documentation wins when a step differs. The buttons for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code are on [Use Prior from your AI assistant](https://priortasks.com/docs/integrations/mcp/).

## Command-line apps

**Codex** (also used by the ChatGPT desktop app and IDE extension, which share its configuration):

```
codex mcp add prior --url https://api.priortasks.com/mcp
codex mcp login prior
```

Or in `~/.codex/config.toml`: `[mcp_servers.prior]` with `url = "https://api.priortasks.com/mcp"`. See [Codex MCP](https://learn.chatgpt.com/docs/extend/mcp?surface=cli).

**Gemini CLI:**

```
gemini mcp add --transport http prior https://api.priortasks.com/mcp
```

Then type `/mcp auth prior` in Gemini CLI. Google's documentation says Gemini CLI was replaced by Antigravity CLI for unpaid-tier and Google One users on 18 June 2026: check which one you have. See [MCP servers in Gemini CLI](https://geminicli.com/docs/tools/mcp-server/).

**Amp:** `amp mcp add prior https://api.priortasks.com/mcp`. See [Amp MCP](https://ampcode.com/docs/customize/mcp).

**OpenCode:** add this to `opencode.json`, then run `opencode mcp auth prior`. See [OpenCode MCP servers](https://opencode.ai/docs/mcp-servers/).

```json
{ "mcp": { "prior": { "type": "remote", "url": "https://api.priortasks.com/mcp", "enabled": true } } }
```

## Editors and coding agents

**Zed.** Open **Settings → AI → MCP Servers**, click **Add Server**, then **Add Remote Server**. Or add it to `settings.json`:

```json
{ "context_servers": { "prior": { "url": "https://api.priortasks.com/mcp" } } }
```

See [Zed MCP](https://zed.dev/docs/ai/mcp).

**JetBrains AI Assistant.** Open **Settings | Tools | AI Assistant | Model Context Protocol (MCP)**, click **Add**, choose HTTP and paste:

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "prior": { "url": "https://api.priortasks.com/mcp" } } }
```

JetBrains' page does not mention OAuth sign-in. If the app does not offer it, use an access key.

**Junie** (JetBrains' agent). Put the same JSON in `~/.junie/mcp/mcp.json`, then click **Authorize** in the MCP Installation Assistant.

**Windsurf.** Add this to `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json`. Windsurf's documentation has moved to docs.devin.ai and the path may change, so check it.

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "prior": { "serverUrl": "https://api.priortasks.com/mcp" } } }
```

**Kiro.** Open the install page [Add Prior to Kiro](https://kiro.dev/launch/mcp/add?name=prior&config=%7B%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fapi.priortasks.com%2Fmcp%22%7D), or edit `~/.kiro/settings/mcp.json`. See [Kiro MCP servers](https://kiro.dev/docs/mcp/servers).

**Warp.** Open **Settings → Agents → MCP servers**, click **+ Add**, choose Streamable HTTP and paste `{ "Prior": { "url": "https://api.priortasks.com/mcp" } }`. See [Warp MCP](https://docs.warp.dev/agent-platform/capabilities/mcp/).

**Cline.** Add this to `cline_mcp_settings.json`. Cline's documentation is the reference for the exact keys.

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "prior": { "type": "streamableHttp", "url": "https://api.priortasks.com/mcp" } } }
```

**Goose.** Its install link is `goose://extension?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.priortasks.com%2Fmcp&type=streamable_http&id=prior&name=Prior&description=Prior`. Goose's documentation does not confirm OAuth sign-in, so sign-in may not work: check its documentation, or use an access key.

## Chat and assistant apps

**Mistral Le Chat.** Go to **Connectors**, click **+ Add Connector**, then **Custom MCP Connector**. Enter a name, the address and a description, then **Connect**. Adding a connector is limited to admins. See [Le Chat MCP connectors](https://docs.mistral.ai/le-chat/knowledge-integrations/connectors/mcp-connectors).

**Gemini app.** Go to **gemini.google.com → Settings → Connected Apps → Custom apps** and add the address. This is available on the web only, in English, for personal Google accounts aged 18 or over, in the United States, with Keep Activity on. See [Gemini Apps help](https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/17209137).

**Microsoft Copilot Studio.** In your agent, go to **Tools → Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol**. Enter a name, a description and the address, and choose OAuth 2.0 with dynamic discovery. See [Add an existing MCP server](https://learn.microsoft.com/microsoft-copilot-studio/mcp-add-existing-server-to-agent).

**Raycast.** Run the **Install MCP Server** command, set the transport to HTTP, enter the address, and choose OAuth type Dynamic. See [Raycast MCP](https://manual.raycast.com/ai/model-context-protocol).

**Perplexity.** Open **Plugins** in the sidebar, click **Add custom**, and choose remote. Perplexity's screens change, so check its help center.

**Replit.** In the **Integrations** pane, open **MCP Servers for Replit Agent**, click **Add MCP server**, enter a name and the address, then **Test & Save**.

## Apps without a browser sign-in

**LM Studio** documents bearer-token headers only, so connect it with an [access key](https://priortasks.com/docs/integrations/access-keys/). Its install page is [lmstudio.ai/install-mcp](https://lmstudio.ai/install-mcp). We could not confirm that OAuth sign-in works there.

## Let a tool write the config

`npx add-mcp https://api.priortasks.com/mcp` finds the AI apps installed on your computer and writes their configuration. It is a third-party tool, not made by Prior: see [add-mcp](https://github.com/neon-solutions/add-mcp). Read what it will change before you run it.

## Good to know

- **Keep approvals on.** Each app decides when to ask before using a tool. See [Keep your connection safe](https://priortasks.com/docs/integrations/mcp-security/).
- **Revoke from Prior.** Every connection is listed in **Settings → Integrations** with a **Revoke** button.
- **Missing your app?** Write to us from [Support](https://priortasks.com/contact/) so we can add it.
