What is Prior?
Prior is a task manager for freelancers and independents. It brings tasks, calendar, focus timer, habits, notes and budgets into one app: you write down what you have to do, and Prior helps you find when to do it between your meetings.
What is time blocking, and how does Prior do it?
Time blocking means giving each task its own slot in your calendar. Prior places your open tasks in the free hours around your events and moves them when plans change; a block only stays put once you lock it. Automatic time blocking is part of the Pro plan.
Is Prior free?
Yes. The Free plan includes tasks, habits, notes, flashcards, Kanban boards, the calendar and the Focus timer, with no card needed. Pro costs €8 a month, or €6 a month billed yearly, and adds Prior AI and automatic time blocking, with a 14-day free trial.
Which devices does Prior run on?
Prior runs in the browser and as an app for macOS, Windows, Linux and Android. There is no iPhone app yet: on an iPhone, open Prior in the browser.
Does Prior work offline?
Yes. Prior works from a copy on your device first, so the apps keep working without a connection and sync when you are back online.
Can I use my existing calendar?
Yes. You can connect Google Calendar, import an ICS file or subscribe to a calendar by its URL. These calendars are read-only in Prior, and your tasks are planned around their events.
Can I import my tasks from Todoist, Linear or Notion?
Yes. Settings → Import brings your tasks over from Todoist, Linear and Notion exports (CSV, ZIP or pasted text). The import runs on your device.
What happens to my data?
Your data lives on your device first, and an account only keeps your devices in sync. You can export all your data or delete your account at any time from the app.
