Open chests and collect items
Chests come from level-ups, long streaks and big achievements. See what is inside, how duplicates become stardust, and what you can craft and wear.
Chests are the rewards of Game mode. They hold cosmetics only: nothing in a chest gives XP or changes a ranking, except an occasional streak freeze.
Where chests come from
| Source | Chest |
|---|---|
| Every new level | Common |
| Every 5th level (5, 10, 15, 20, 30...) | Rare |
| Every 25th level (25, 50, 75, 100...) | Epic |
| A 7-day streak | Rare |
| A 30-day streak | Epic |
| A 100-day or 365-day streak | Legendary |
| An Epic or Legendary achievement | Epic or Legendary |
Each level gives its chest once, even if you lose and regain the level. Chests waiting for you show in Progress → Overview, and a level-up offers Open chest or Later.
What is inside
The contents are rolled on the server when the chest is granted, so nothing can be re-rolled.
| Chest | Items | Streak freeze |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 1 | 1 chance in 12 |
| Rare | 2 | 1 chance in 6 |
| Epic | 3 | 1 chance in 3 |
| Legendary | 3 | 1 chance in 2 |
The last item of a chest is at least as rare as the chest. Rarities are Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary, and higher chests lean toward the higher ones.
Opening a chest plays a short sequence: the chest shakes, bursts open, and the rewards come out one card at a time. Click, tap, or press Space or Enter for the next card, and use Skip to go straight to Your rewards, then Collect. With Effects set to Off, or reduced motion on, it opens straight onto the summary.
What chests hold
- Pet hats, face items and neck items (Hat, Face, Neck). See Raise your pet.
- Room items for the pet's den.
- Confetti themes for the completion effect.
- Titles that show next to your name on leaderboards.
Avatar borders are not in chests: you earn them through achievements. Name effects come from your level.
Name effects
Your username on leaderboards can take on an effect as your level rises: Copper at level 5, Silver at 10, Gold at 20, Emerald at 30, Sapphire at 40, Diamond at 50, Aurora at 75 and Mythic at 100. Earned effects stay in your inventory and you can equip any of them.
Duplicates and stardust
An item you already own becomes stardust: 5 for a Common one, 20 for a Rare one, 60 for an Epic one and 200 for a Legendary one. Spend it in Progress → Inventory to craft the exact item you want, at four times its stardust value: 20, 80, 240 or 800. When you own everything chests can drop, the page says so.
Wear and show your items
Progress → Inventory has a tab for each kind: Name effects, Borders, Titles, Pet, Confetti and Badges. Choose Equip on an item, and a preview shows how your card looks on a leaderboard.
Good to know
- Items are earned or crafted, never bought. Paid plans add none.
- Other people only see your name effect, border, title and your pet's hat, and only if your leaderboard visibility lets them see you. See Leaderboards, usernames and kudos.
- Chests keep coming in Calm mode, and wait for you if you turn Game on later.
