Sign out and manage your sessions
Sign out of one device, end every session after a lost phone, and revoke the AI assistants and access keys connected to your account.
Each device where you sign in gets its own session. The session is what keeps you signed in: it lives in the system keychain in the desktop and Android apps, and in the browser's storage on the web. Prior stores only a fingerprint of it on the server, together with a device name and type, when it started, when it was last used and when it ends.
Sign out of this device
- Desktop and web: open the account menu (your name at the bottom of the sidebar) and choose Sign out. The command palette has a Sign out command too.
- Phone: open More, tap your name, then choose Log out.
This ends the session on the device you are using and nothing else: your other devices stay signed in. Anything waiting to sync is not sent to the server by signing out, so let the sync finish first. See Fix sync problems.
When a session ends by itself
A session does not last forever. When yours has run out, Prior tells you the session expired, asks you to sign in again and shows the sign-in screen. Your data is not touched: signing in again brings it back.
Sign out everywhere
The app does not list your browser, desktop and phone sessions, and it has no Sign out everywhere button. Two things end them all at once:
- Reset your password. Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in form, follow the emailed link and save a new password. Every session ends, on every device and for every connected AI assistant. See Sign in and reset your password.
- Delete your account. This also cancels your subscription. See Delete your account.
A device whose session ended asks you to sign in again the next time it syncs.
Lost or stolen device
- From another device, reset your password with Forgot password?. Every session ends, the lost device's included.
- Turn on two-step verification if it is not on yet.
- Sign in again on your devices and reconnect your AI assistants.
Prior cannot erase the local copy of your data on a device you no longer have. Use the device's own lock and disk encryption, and report a lost phone to your carrier as usual.
Connected AI assistants and access keys
An AI assistant that you connected, and any access key you created, is a separate session that works only with Prior's assistant connection and not with the app. They are listed in Settings → Integrations, under Connected apps, with the date of their last use.
- Choose Revoke next to an app to disconnect it. It stops working at once.
- Connecting an assistant asks for your consent in the browser first, and you can see which app asks.
See Access keys and How the assistant connection stays safe.
Good to know
- Resetting your password is the only way to end the sessions of devices you cannot reach.
- Two-step verification protects new sign-ins. It does not end sessions that are already open.
- On a shared computer, use a private browser window and sign out when you are done.
