Create your account
Sign up to Prior with Google or with an email and password, on the web, desktop or Android, then verify your address and set up in a minute.
You need a Prior account to use the app. Your work is still saved on your device first. The account is what keeps your devices in sync and lets you share projects and connect an assistant.
- Open Prior in your browser or in the installed app. Choose Create account. The Start free buttons on the website open this form directly.
- Choose Continue with Google, or fill in your name, email and password. The password needs at least 8 characters, and the eye button shows what you typed.
- Answer the two setup questions: what you need help with, and what you have to do. See Your first day in Prior.
The setup questions do not cover your name, language or theme. They come from your sign-up and from your device, and you can change them in Settings → General and Settings → Profile & account.
Google or password
- Google opens Google's sign-in page, then returns you to Prior. On Android, Prior shows the system account picker. Prior only asks Google for your email and basic profile.
- Email and password works everywhere. If you forget the password, choose Forgot password? on the sign-in form. The emailed link is valid for 30 minutes.
You can use either way to sign in on any device, as long as the email is the same.
Verify your email
If you signed up with a password, Prior emails you a verification link, valid for 24 hours. A banner reminds you from your second session, after 24 hours, or once you finish a chapter of Discover. Settings → Profile & account shows the status and can send the email again. Google accounts are already verified.
Other ways in
- An invitation link opens a sign-up that shows the project that invited you. You skip the goals and the tutorial, and you confirm that you want to join once you are set up.
- A shared deck link opens a one-step sign-up that skips the setup and opens the deck right away.
Good to know
- Two-factor authentication is optional. Turn it on in Settings → Security. See Two-factor authentication.
- Signing in on a second device downloads your tasks and settings. See Offline use and sync.
- If sign-in fails, see Sign-in problems.
