Give Team seats to your colleagues

A Team plan is billed per seat. Buy the seats, give one to each colleague by email, free a seat, change the number of seats, and see how the trial limits them.

With Team you buy a number of seats, keep one yourself and give the others to the people you work with by email. Everyone with a seat gets the Team plan on their own account: Prior AI, automatic time blocking, the Scrum toolkit, 4 million assistant tokens a month and shared projects of up to 50 people. You receive one invoice for all the seats.

The seat goes to the verified account that uses this email address. Prior sends no message to your colleague: tell them to sign in, or to create an account, with that address, and to confirm it. The seat then gives them the Team plan, and they see "Seat offered by {your name}" in their Settings → Subscription.

Next to each email, a tag says Hasn't used the seat yet until the person has used it. You see their name once they have. Prior never tells you whether an account exists for an address you typed.

Choose the cross next to the email (Free the seat). The person goes back to their own plan, Free or the one they pay for. Their data stays theirs.

#Change the number of seats

Change Paid seats and choose Update seats. The change is prorated on your next invoice. If you go below the number of seats you gave away, the most recent ones stop working first and are tagged Beyond your paid seats.

When all your seats are used, the page says "Every seat is assigned. Add seats to invite more people."

#During the free trial

While the trial runs, 5 seats work, yours included, whatever you bought. The page says so. Every paid seat opens with the first payment. See Start a free trial.

#Good to know

• Only the owner of an active Team subscription can manage seats. A plan offered by Prior has no seats to assign.
• If someone with a seat already pays for Pro, they get Team through your seat. If they leave, they go back to Pro.
• Seats give a plan. They do not share projects: invite people to a project as usual with Share a project. The project owner's plan sets how many people it can hold.
• Moving from Team to Pro in the Stripe portal brings the subscription back to one seat.
