Use the project page

See where a project stands, work on its tasks as a board or a list, and reach its notes, budget and other tabs from one page.

Open a project from the Projects page to see everything about it: its progress, its tasks and its other views.

The top of the page

The header shows the project's icon and name, its status (a menu you can change), its type and, in a shared project, the members' avatars. Three buttons sit on the right:

  • Share invites people. See Share a project.
  • Edit project changes the name, type, icon, description, health and dates. On a Standard project it also changes the area; an Agile project moves to another area from its ••• menu.
  • New task opens the task composer with this project already chosen.

Under the header, a summary strip shows the Progress (a percentage and the tasks done out of the total), the Due date with the days left (when the project has a target date), the Current cycle when an Agile project has one running, and the Health when it is set. Right-click the header, or press ••• on a phone, for more actions: change the status, move the project to another area and delete it.

The tabs

A Standard project has these tabs:

TabWhat it holds
BoardTasks as cards in columns. See the Kanban board.
ListThe same tasks grouped by status, with the number of open tasks.
NotesThe project's notes, shared live or personal. See Project notes.
BudgetWhat the project has to buy. See Track a project's budget.
LeaderboardA leaderboard or team goal for a shared project. It shows when Game mode is on.

An Agile project has Board, Issues, Overview, Notes, Activity, and, when they are in use, Budget, Cycles (Sprints in Scrum) and Planning Poker. See Agile projects.

On a computer a project opens on Board. On a phone it opens on the list, which shows the whole project at a glance.

Add or hide a view

Budget, Cycles and Planning Poker show up once they hold something. Until then, press Add a view after the tabs to add one. On a phone, use the header menu and choose Add a view. On a computer, while a view you added is still empty, the same button offers Hide Budget (or the view's name) to take it away again. Prior remembers your choice for each project on this device.

Find and filter tasks

Above the board and the list:

  • Find a task searches titles.
  • The assignee filter appears when someone else is in the project.
  • Hide completed removes finished tasks from view. Prior remembers it per project on this device.

In the list, every status group folds and unfolds, and Done starts folded. The last line, Add a task…, creates a task in this project: it reads dates, priority and @name in the title like the composer does, and keeps the cursor ready for the next one. Press Esc once to clear the line and again to leave it.

Good to know

  • Each tab has its own address, so a reload or the Back button returns you to the same tab.
  • Viewers of a shared project can look at everything but cannot change it.
  • Deleting a project, or an area, shows an Undo toast first. See Organize work with areas and projects.
